Metalcore spektakel v Ortu!
MORT:
MortFive experienced musicians from Recklinghausen / NRW, coming out of the German Metal- and Hardcorescene found the band MORT in summer 2001. (Mort: Apprentice of the death, taken from a novel by Terry Pratchett). Within a few months the four guys started to perform their energy loaded live sets country – wide. They shared the stage with bands like: CONVERGE, CALIBAN, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, MAROON, WALLS OF JERICHO, AS WE FIGHT, MORDA DEADLOCK, BORN FROM PAIN, UNDYING and many more. In 2003 MORT recorded their first Grindcore, Hardcore and Metal influenced MCD, produced at the “Lauter Studios” in Muenster / NRW. The MCD earned excellent reviews and was sold – out within a few months. By and by MORT developed more and more their own style and songwriting. According to this progress the guys recorded a new Demo CD at the “Soundfabrik” Hagen / NRW supervised by Martin Werner. The CD became a blast and bigger gigs were the answer. With this growing success Florian Roch joined the band on guitar as Goran Stipcic quitted 2005. This “fresh wind” stepped up the development of MORT to a more street based image. So the guys started to record their first full length album called “HYDRA”, also produced at the “Soundfabrik” Hagen / NRW. The new album is the brute answer to the German mainstream pop idols and became a mixture of HATEBREED, SLAYER, MERAUDER and MAROON, dealing with metaphorical-, socially critical- and personal German lyrics.
