Del projekta se bo odvijal tudi v Ljubljani, zato je predavanje hkrati tudi povabilo k sodelovanju.

Bi želeli sodelovati v umetniški izkušnji? se za ne tako, da sodelujo emu (posamezniku, skupini ali kolektivu) ponudimo emajliran jeklen predmet (125 x 80 x 18 cm), naj ga odnese domov in si vzame (v povpre ju) en mesec asa za izvedbo umetniške izkušnje z njim. eprav je fizi ni predmet tisti element, ki sproži procese in za ne izkušnje, pa v resnici privede v ospredje dolo ene nabore nevidnih linij in diagramov, ki se nanašajo na raznovrstne odnose in utne podatke, kar naredi vidno mreženje in strukture mediacije.

Bi želeli sodelovati v umetniški izkušnji? se je za el leta 1994 in je do zdaj obšel že veliko mest, od Londona (VB) in San Sebastiána (Španija) v Evropi do Rio de Janeira, Vitórie, Brasílie, São Paula, Porto Alegreja in Florianópolisa v Braziliji. Preko 30 sodelavcev (posameznikov, skupin in kolektivov) je ustvarilo ve izkušenj in poslalo obširno in zanimivo dokumentacijo, ki bo na ogled na spletni strani projekta. Bi želeli sodelovati v umetniški izkušnji? je o itno delo v nastajanju, saj najde pot prav v postopku razvijanja. Projektu skoraj ni videti konca, vsekakor ne kmalu, saj njegova kontinuiteta ni odvisna od življenjske dobe avtorja/predlagatelja – predmet je zasnovan kot multipel, tako da je mogo e narediti nove predmete, kadar koli je potrebno.

Bi želeli sodelovati v umetniški izkušnji? bo javnosti v celoti prvi predstavljen na documenti 12, kot pregled doseženega od za etkov in za oblikovanje platforme za nadaljevanje v prihodnosti. Narejenih bo dvajset novih predmetov: 10 jih bo krožilo po Braziliji in Južni Ameriki (Florianópolis, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Buenos Aires, Valparaíso in Mexico City), 9 po Evropi (Kassel, Dunaj, Ljubljana, Istanbul, Barcelona in Liverpool) in 1 po Afriki (Dakar).

Za razstavo v Kasslu junija 2007 bomo razvili kiparsko-arhitekturno strukturo, ki bo delovala kot kraj za razstavo vseh zapisov, rezultatov, diagramov avdio-vizualne dokumentacije in elementov projekta Bi želeli sodelovati v umetniški izkušnji?.

Ricardo Basbaum (Sao Paulo, 1961) je umetnik, teoretik in kustos. Živi in dela v Riu de Janeiru. Sodeloval je na mnogih pomembnih razstavah, kot so na primer psiu-ei-oi-olá-não (A Gentil Carioca, Rio de Janeiro, 2004), sistema-cinema + diagramas (MAC-UNaM, Posadas, 2003), Passagens (NBP” (Galeria Artur Fidalgo, Rio de Janeiro, 2001) in NBP x eu-você (MAM, Rio de Janeiro, 2000), Be what you want but stay where you are (Witte de With, Rotterdam, 2005), Scenes (Centro Altantico de Arte Moderno, Las Plamas 2005), formas de pensar (MALBA, Buenos Aires, 2004), XXV São Paulo Biennale (2002), Urban Tension (museum in progress, Dunaj 2002).

Basbaum je sourednik asopisa za umetnost item in urednik knjige Arte Contemporânea Brasileira: texturas, dicções, ficções, estrategias (Rio de Janeiro, Contra Capa, 2001). Med leti 1999 in 2003 je deloval kot eden od programskih vodij umetniškega eksperimentalnega prostora Agora v Riu de Janeiru. Predava na Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.

You are invited to attend a talk by Ricardo Basbaum in the Information Center at the Moderna galerija on 17 November 2006 at 6 p.m.

Basbaum will talk about his project NBP, which he is preparing for documenta 12. A part of the project will also take place in Ljubljana, so his talk is at the same time also an invitation for anyone who wishes to participate.

Would you like to participate in an artistic experience? starts with the offering of an enameled steel object (125 x 80 x 18 cm) to be taken home by the participant (individual, group or collective), who will have one month (average time) to realize an artistic experience with it. Although the physical object is the actual element which triggers the processes and starts up the experiences, it in fact brings to the foreground certain sets of invisible lines and diagrams concerning all kinds of relations and sensorial data, making visible networking and mediation structures.

Would you like to participate in an artistic experience? was initiated in 1994 and has already circulated through several cities, from London (UK) and San Sebastián (Spain), in Europe, to Rio de Janeiro, Vitória, Brasília, São Paulo, Porto Alegre and Florianópolis, in Brazil. More than 30 participants (some of them, groups and collectives) have produced several experiences and sent extensive and interesting documentation – which will be displayed at the project website. Would you like to participate in an artistic experience? is clearly a piece of work-in-progress, as it finds its way in the very process of being developed. Virtually, this project has no near end at all, since its continuity does not depend on its author/proposer lifetime – the object is conceived as a multiple, and so new objects can be produced any time it is required.

Would you like to participate in an artistic experience? will be presented in its entirety to the public for the first time at documenta 12, accomplishing for a balance of what has been achieved since its beginning and establishing a platform for its continuity afterwards. Twenty new objects are going to be produced: 10 will circulate in Brazil and Latin America (Florianópolis, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Buenos Aires, Valparaíso and Mexico City), 9 in Europe (Kassel, Vienna, Ljubljana, Istanbul, Barcelona and Liverpool) and 1 in Africa (Dakar).

For the Kassel exhibition, in June 2007, a sculptural-architectonic structure will be developed, functioning as a site for displaying all the records, results, diagrams, audiovisual documents and elements involved in the Would you like to participate in an artistic experience? project.

Basbaum is a co-editor of the art magazine item and the editor of the bok Arte Contemporânea Brasileira: texturas, dicções, ficções, estrategias (Rio de Janeiro, Contra Capa, 2001). Between 1999 and 2003 he worked as a head of programs for the experimental art space Agora v Riu de Janeiru. He lectures at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro.
