A one-day intensive introduction to corporate social responsibility, its tools and best practices
This is a one-day intensive introductory course aimed at CSR managers, NGOs interested in engaging with the business sector, representatives of business associations, professional accountants, lawyers, consultants and anyone interested in raising their awareness and knowledge about the issues and best practices involved with CSR. Its focus is on identifying CSR issues and then dealing with them in an effective and transparent manner.
It stresses the benefits of engaging with social and environmental issues, involving staff and other stakeholders. A number of case studies and examples of CSR will be examined that consider both risks and opportunities associated with social and environmental issues and all the major tools of CSR will be introduced: social accounts, ethical codes, Sa8000, etc.

Instructor: Mattia Miani
Mattia Miani is a leading Italian scholar in corporate and public communication, social and co-operative management. He teaches at Alma Graduate School of the University of Bologna and is involved on a daily basis in CSR projects as a consultant and director in various boards. He has written four books (the latter “L’impresa che comunica” – ISEDI 2006 – with full chapters devoted to CSR) and hundreds of articles about communication and management. He holds and advanced degree in Communications Sciences and a Master in Business and Administration from the University of Bologna.
