Kore Wa Tada No sen Desu

Premiera plesne predstave

Five different characters want to unite themselves into one single group. They are all outcasts and they all want to be loved by others. The group seem to attain an apparent order. Structurally, they try complicated physical compositions. Two dancers, both females, who don’t want to belong to the group from the outset. They intensify the material, which was created by force, as they want to be free from outside opinions. Nevertheless, all individuals want to break free from the confines of fixed dimensions. They exhaust themselves physically and mentally. They persist despite fatigue and falls. The group disintegrates more and more into isolated individuals. The connection is only an apparent one. A homogenous structure, which would enable the development of an individual in their miniscule world, is never established. Nevertheless, the end is constructive, it’s in complete opposition to the beginning; it’s an ordered chaos. An extremely physical cross-section of energies is replaced by an ascetic, Zen, the concentrated control of the body. As in Richard Bach’s “Jonathan Livingston Seagull”, which was the starting-point and a rough outline for the performance “Kore wa tada no sen desu”, the individual tries so hard to achieve his/her speed that he/she becomes thwarted and elevates themselves from the ground only after a mammoth struggle. He/she can start a new life, only after she/he gains a certain knowledge.
